Please can you tell me how are the underground Bomb Shelter and the underground parking are treated under BOMA 2017 standard?
Basically my question is if I reduce the underground Bomb shelter to gain more parking how is the building rentable area changing?

Hi Razvan,

The standard doesn't mention bomb shelters but we can assume that it would be allocated as a Service Area so it would be Rentable Area. If you remove it and replace with Parking Area, then that area would be deducted from the Rentable Area since Parking Area is a Rentable Exclusion in the standard. So in summary, the Rentable Area of the building would decrease.
