VOIDS

Hello, Could I get a bit more information with regards to how VOIDS are treated when Polylining a CAD floor plan?
Our concern is with voids located in the center of a building.
It cuts through floors 2-10 but is not open to the sky. The roof covers it at the 10th floor.

Now, I understand that the 2017 BOMA standards says they are excluded.
However, Our first question is whether the Gross exterior polyline is affected by it or not?
Since it is an interior voided space (not on the perimeter or exterior) I do not believe that is should affect the Gross Exterior Polyline. Is this correct?

In the past, (2nd question) we would space polyline and space tag the voided area just as we would a shaft but with its own designation. Is this correct?
Or would be leave the void blank and space polyline around it.
Please advise with many thanks!

Voids are ignored so there should be no polyline around it other than the polyline of the Boundary Area, which excludes the VOID.
