What kind of rentable area is a balcony?

David Fingret
Extreme Measures Inc.
July 16, 2018

HI Phil,

Any Balcony that provides sufficient barriers and strength for people to occupy is considered rentable area according to the BOMA 2017 Office Standard. If the balcony serves only one tenant, it is part of their Tenant Area / Occupant Area. If it serves more than one tenant or the entire building, it would be Inter-Building Service Area or Building Service Area.

Thanks,
David
