Janitor's Closet with Roof Hatch

I am working on a building with a roof hatch located inside a janitor's closet. Would this space be considered Building Service Area, as it is the only internal access to the roof; or would it be considered Floor Service Area because it is a janitor's closet?

Hi Andrew,

If the janitor closet repeats on every floor, we would allocate as Floor Service Area. Otherwise, we would most likely allocate to Building Service Area. We would determine how the space is primarily being used. Usually a hatch to roof is not used frequently, so I think how the janitor closet is used is of primary concern.

Thanks,
