Gross Building Area

I have been asked to verify that GROSS BUILDING AREA in the ANSI/BOMA Z65.1-1996 STANDARD METHOD FOR MEASURING FLOOR AREA IN OFFICE BUILDINGS does not include outside roof overhangs. My interpretation is that it extends to the outside finish face of the enclosing exterior walls. Is this correct?
