Capturing external storage space

Are BOMA standards applicable to structures such as storage sheds and BFI bins which are stored on a subject property?

Are BOMA standards only meant for measuring internal building spaces?

Do any standards allow one to capture rent from storage sheds/bins being stored on external space?

nb: please do not use my contact information on any forums/databases

Hello,

There are no BOMA standards specifically designed for storage sheds or BFI bins. Generally, the BOMA standards measure only fully enclosed spaces. There are some exceptions to this but those exceptions are unrelated to your question.

There are no standards that I am aware of that allow you to capture rent from storage bins. This would have to be part of a separate agreement.

Thanks,
