Stairwell
A Stairwell is a vertical shaft containing a flight of stairs. Classified as a Major Vertical Penetration, its area is deducted from the rentable floor area. However, the floor surface on the lowest level (where the stair starts) is sometimes treated differently depending on the specific BOMA version used.
