Rentable Area
Rentable Area is the total square footage for which a tenant pays rent. It is calculated by taking the tenant's Usable Area and adding a pro-rata share of the building's common areas (Load Factor). This is the most critical figure in a commercial lease for determining annual rent and operating expenses.
