Openings to Floor Below
Openings to Floor Below (often called Voids) are large horizontal openings in a floor slab, such as atriums or the upper parts of two-story lobbies. Under BOMA standards, these areas are excluded from the square footage of the upper floor because there is no floor surface to occupy.
