BOMA 1996 VS Industrial 2019

Hi, In a single tenant, single story industrial building with a mezzanine. Would there be a difference between using the BOMA 1996 instead of the BOMA Industrial 2019 to reflect the square footage of the lease? Which one should be use and what should be the correct method to use in case of parties not agreeing to a specific method of calculation?

Thank you

Hi Audrey,

The BOMA industrial standard should be applied to an industrial building. There would be very little difference (possibly no difference) in area using the Gross Building Area found in BOMA 1996 versus the BOMA Industrial Standard, as both generally measure to the outside face of the exterior wall. However, it's impossible for us to provide you with a definitive answer without reviewing the plans.

Thanks,
David
