In a 2 story office building, there is a staircase that has access from
1) outside the building
2) 1 Tenant on 1st floor
3) 1 tenant on 2nd floor
there are additional tenants in the building.

Are the stairs part of rentable SQ. FT.?
is the elevator Shaft in the building part of the rentable SQ. FT.?
I'm using method B

Hi Yisra,

If the stairs are enclosed within the interior of the building, only the lowest level (where there is a Floor) is included in the Rentable Area. Any openings in the Floor above the lowest level to accommodate stairs would be a Major Vertical Penetration and therefore excluded from the Rentable Area.

Thanks,
David
