Outdoor patios

I am working on sq. ft. measurements for a building that has one floor (5th) that has two open air (no roof) patios. One can be accessed only through one tenant's space. The other is accessed through a second tenant, but is also the landlord's means to get on the roof.

How should I figure the square footages for these two patios? Of should I count them at all since they are not roofed or conditioned space?

thanks!

Hi Connie,

The areas for these patios are not counted as part of Occupant Area or Rentable Area. The 2010 Standard makes provisions for some Exterior Areas (exterior circulation, door setbacks, and louvred mechanical rooms) but not for outdoor patios.
