BOMA 1980 usage

July 11, 2014

Hi,

I've seen a statement in 1980 : The BOMA Z65.1-1980 Standard is no longer ANSI approved or supported by BOMA.

What does it mean and whether we can still use 1980 version for measuring a commercial building.

Thank you.

Hi Hilman

That is correct - it is no longer ANSI approved. But there are no BOMA or ANSI police - you can use whatever standard you wish as long as it is agreed by all parties involved. We have many clients still using the BOMA 1980 standard.

Thanks,
David
