Does the standard permit the inclusion of exterior unenclosed (but covered) circulation in the calculation of rental floor area. One story building with covered areas at suite entrances.

Hi Jeff,

There is no rentable area calcualtion in the "BOMA 2009 - Gross Areas of a Building" standard. Having said that, the Exterior Gross Area calculation within this standard may include the covered areas that you describe as "External Circulation".

If this is a single tenant building, you may use the Exterior Gross Area as the rentable area.
