BOMA International (BOMA), The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), and the American Industrial Real Estate Association (AIR) have developed a collaborative work known as the "Standard Methods For Measuring Floor Area in Industrial Buildings". The standard outlines two distinct methods of measuring industrial properties; the Exterior Wall Methodology (Method A) and the Drip Line Methodology (Method B). For the most part, the industrial standard is the same as the BOMA 1996 office standard (ANSI/BOMA Z65.1-1996) with the principal difference being the Measure Line.
Extreme Measures Inc. specializes in and has developed systems that calculate square feet according to BOMA/SIOR Industrial Standards.
